These classic, delicious, and cheap football recipes are the perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the game without any consumer debt or financial guilt. It’s a win-win!

3 Classic & Cheap Football Recipes

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This recipe is a real crowd-pleaser, and it doesn’t take too much work to make! No need to cook a whole chicken for this recipe. Pick up a rotisserie chicken, or a package of chicken breasts, and use two forks to shred the cooked meat. To save even more time and money on groceries, pick up canned chicken that’s already pulled. Add that chicken to a mixing bowl or to the pan you plan to bake it with. Mix in one cup of hot sauce (RedHot is one of my favorites), 1 cup of ranch dressing, and 1 block of cream cheese. Consider using generic brands or whatever is on sale to save a few bucks. Mix it all together! Then, add some shredded cheddar cheese to the top and pop it in the oven at 350 degrees until the cheese is melted and golden. This is one of the easiest most beloved football recipes for good reason!

DIY Potato Skins

Depending on the size of your party, get anywhere from 3-7 potatoes. After washing, cut off the ends and then cut the potatoes into 1/2″ slices. Brush the potatoes with melted butter and add salt and pepper. Stick them in the oven until the potatoes are tender, and make sure to flip them to brown both sides! Afterwards, add your cheddar cheese, bacon crisps, etc. and bake for 3-5 more minutes. Set up additional toppings like chives and sour cream for guests to add on themselves. Shop the sales and see what toppings are the least expensive. And voila!

BBQ Chicken Sliders

This is one of my favorite classic & cheap football recipes. Buy a package of 12 dinner rolls (the ones that are all stuck together) that generally go for $1. Keeping the 12 rolls together, slice them down the middle so you have 12 tops and 12 bottoms in a sheet. Take cooked, shredded chicken (or another kind of meat) and mix it in a bowl with barbecue sauce. Then, evenly spread it across the bottom of the rolls. Add cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, or whatever you like and place the top layer of rolls to make a sandwich. Brush the rolls with melted butter and bake on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes until the rolls are golden. Your guests can then take a slider right from the platter! Easy and convenient for cooking and consumption!
