basics of a debt management programBefore you jump into enrolling in one, it is important that you understand the basics of a debt management program. Figuring out how to get out of debt is no easy task. Therefore, it is important that you do not get into even more consumer debt in the process.

Basics of a Debt Management Program:

What is a debt management program (DMP)? A DMP is where you make one monthly payment to a reputable credit counseling agency who will pay the different creditors on your behalf. In the process, possibly you can sign up for reduced interest rate and the possibility to pay off debt sooner than you would on your own.

ACCC Debt Management Program Benefits:

One Monthly Payment. We combine all of your creditor payments into one monthly amount, and once we receive your payment, we disburse directly to your creditors on your behalf.

24-hour Member access. Our Members-Only website is reserved exclusively for clients who use our debt management counseling services. There you can access up to date information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Client Service representatives are available for support Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 8:00 pm, and Fridays 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Lower Payments. We work with your creditors to lower your monthly payments and to reduce your interest charges.

Get out of debt faster. Through our debt management counseling, we help to design programs that get you out of debt within 60 months. Your program will help put an end to your financial stress. The length of the program will be determined by the total amount of your debt, your specific creditors, and whether you can send additional funds as you become more financially stable. Each of these items is identified during our debt management counseling session.

Re-counseling. Through the Re-counseling department, clients are able to work with certified counselors that provide ongoing debt management counseling and education. We will review your current financial situation and budget and provide suggestions and additional financial resources.

Financial Education. Clients receive our complimentary Financial Peace of Mind program which consists of 8 self-directed study chapters and assessments for the purpose of improving your money management skills, increasing your financial awareness, and modifying your financial behavior for the better.
